BOI redemption figure - Clearing mortgage

To clarify, it's a fixed rate mortgage which is expiring end of this month so would be surprised if there's a breakage fee with 3 days to go. Moving property so paying off BOI through my solicitor and drawing down new mortgage with EBS.

BOI redemption figure - Clearing mortgage

Hi All, Seems to take BOI an age to get a redemption figure sent out. I know the balance from their mortgage viewer, is there any way to estimate interest? Anyone know if solicitors can pay a little extra to clear, and just get refunded if we pay above what's owed?

"KBC mortgage holders should switch to another lender before it is acquired by Bank of Ireland."

Have 1 year and 3 months left on my fixed rate with KBC, rate is 2.5% (Can't remember if that includes the current account discount). Is it worth switching now?

Thanks for the advice Brendan, KBC 2 or 3 year fixed rate probably makes the most sense.

3 year kbc fixed rate coming to an end, time to switch?

Hi All, I have a 3 year fixed rate coming to an end in September, LTV is 82.25%. Current fixed rate is 2.65%. Any advice on what a good switch would be? Would like a cashback deal but that would mean a higher rate. Also we would be looking to potentially move in 2 or 3 years time so wanted to...

Health Insurance "Should I cancel my health insurance now that the private hospitals have come under state control?"

So laya healthcare will refund €65 a month for 3 months, I'm assuming the still take the actual monthly installment as normal? So if my monthly installment is €85 a month -€65 it's actually only costing me €20.

That's unbelievable well done! How hard was it to find a solicitor to agree to all the switches?

Retire in 10 years 3.5k per month possible?

Don't mean to sound smart but why are people looking to retire at the age of 53/55? I know plenty of people around the 60-65 mark and they are dreading retirement, working gives you a purpose and a reason to get out of bed every day.

Knock-on effect of Nurses pay claim

So a registered nurse earns €29,346 and after a few weeks they move to €31,110. Monthly Net income of €2,185 not taking into account pension contributions and pension levy etc. Doesn't seem so bad to me. I've heard quite a few people say "ah they're only on €24,000 a year" but in reality that's...

Knock-on effect of Nurses pay claim

Fascinating reading through this thread. As someone said previously, looking through the payscale on the HSE website is a minefield of job types and grades and add in variables such as pension contributions, overtime, night shift, weekend rates and it's impossible to get the full picture. Who...

Worth mentioning if you don't have an 85% LTV or below some banks won't entertain you, certainly BOI anyway.

    Switch from KBC>PTSB>BOI>EBS.

I have some doubt on BOI, I was just looking at their online mortgage application and it says the maximum term for switchers is 30 years, we took ours from KBC for 35 years so 34 years left, although it will be paid before then. I guess I will just have to apply and see what they say.

    Switch from KBC>PTSB>BOI>EBS.

Hi all, Currently with KBC with a mortgage remaining of around €269,500 on a fixed rate of 2.65%. Fixed in September so will need to pay a breakage fee of €350 if switching. The mortgage is only 1 year and 3 months old so I might not qualify for PTSB due to their 2 year rule but going to...
