AIB No fixed rate break fee - 5 days to decide

That's a standard letter, we received similar from ulster bank when breaking our fixed rate. If you wait longer they have to recalculate the breakage fee. As previous posters said it is nothing to do with prevailing rate.

AIB old thread - Prevailing rate cohort and split mortgages

I think the above image refers to the accounting treatment of that type of loan by the bank, not the individual borrowers history/ credit record.

AIB My capital balance has been reduced!

I have another question, if anyone knows the answer from previous redress schemes. When the interest refund is applied, do we know will this further reduce our mortgage balances?

AIB Reduction applied to someone else's account

@SuzieJ the amount paid this week went off people's mortgage account, so reduced what we owe. Nobody had any choice about where the payment went. We are grateful that the payment has been made as we now owe less.

    Prospect Manor, Rathfarnham

We live locally. Our kids go to St Colmcilles which I assume is also the feeder school for prospect. As others said I'd imagine traffic is the worst thing especially with the new estates. The other issue is the halting site up the road but it's not new and fairly settled as far as I know...

AIB Aib ex staff - getting €1,650 compensation

As far as I know the group being redressed are people who came off fixed rate, fixed rate for a fixed period of time. There is lots of discussions in a number of threads including this one about the staff 'fixed' rate. I was also on it for a short period of time.

AIB Aib ex staff - getting €1,650 compensation

Hi there, I assume the write down applies to whichever part you fixed? The write down for mine is on the original staff rate portion which I fixed. The balance of my mortgage is already on tracker rate so no adjustment required. Did you fix the 'staff portion' at any stage?

AIB My capital balance has been reduced!

Fantastic news guys, I've been stalking my internet banking since the first July, but if it's alphabetical it will be a while for me as we are near the end of the alphabet!

AIB AIB has accepted the Ombudsman's decision and will be rolling it out to 5,900 impacted customers

As quoted above, it says on website that letters will be issued after the capital reduction, so I will be checking my mortgage balance on internet banking daily for the next while! They've a lot of accounts to get through so I'd imagine the above poster is right that they will have to start...

    BOSI Tracker Issue

Hi Georgie, did you contact bosi or has this come out of the blue? We have a bosi tracker which is currently on 1.5%, I have never done anything with this account as we were happy with the rate. I must dig out the load offer if we still have it. **Update** our loa says 'never more than 1.5%...

AIB Aib ex staff - getting €1,650 compensation

Original poster here, I have not seen this thread in years! I am one of the e1615 cohorts. It appears that it is because I came out of the 3% rate and fixed for 1 year to eliminate BIK. when this fixed period ended I went onto the SVR. I have the 3.2 clause in my contract. Hopefully we are...

AIB We have won the Prevailing Rate issue

Brendan, thank you so much for everything you have done. I am another one of the 1615 cohort and have been in a state of shock since I read the statement this morning. On the advice of another staff member I followed all of your instructions as far as the appeals board, after the last...

AIB Aib ex staff - getting €1,650 compensation

I recieved a response from AIB. I went on to a standard 1 year fixed rate as it was lower than the staff rate. At the end of the 1 year fixed period they wrote to me and asked what my instruction was, I did not reply and was put on to a standard variable rate. No idea where this leaves me...

AIB Aib ex staff - getting €1,650 compensation

Hi there I'm just wondering if anyone has discussed aib staff mortgages here. I have a staff mortgage, I took it out in 2007. At the time I had the majority of it on a staff preferential fixed rate of 3% and then the balance was on a tracker rate. After a few years as far as I remember we...
