So my understanding is that they are completely ignoring LTV from now on and just looking at BER? Seems very surprising given that LTV generally correlates with risk. Fairly sure high LTV often >100% was the root of a lot of issues in the crash at the end of the celtic tiger so it is a bit...
I Just noticed this evening that I can generate account statements now instantly on the traderepublic app. Seems to be a step in the right direction and it avoids some of the hassle and cost that people have discussed previously in getting a statement outside the quarterly reports.
Great credit card.
It has travel insurance included. Annual fee is approx the cost of travel insurance from another provider so all the other benefits I see as a bonus.
Made a claim on the travel insurance this year and paid out without any hassle.
I find the trend of moving all the digits on the physical cards to the back a massive backward step.
The whole point the CVV was on the back and the long number was on the front was to reduce risk of fraud. Now someone just needs to get a lucky photo of one side of your debit card and can...
Has anyone received their annual mortgage statement from PTSB for 2023?
ITs almost March and still nothing. I called them 2 weeks ago and they said there was a delay with the UB to PTSB mortgage statements but that they were imminent but still have yet to receive mine.
I work as a doctor for a HSE hospital. I am getting my salary certificates for different banks for a mortgage application.
I work a standard 39hours and then usually have rostered shifts on top of this which may be 4-6 shifts (weekend 24hour shifts) every 3 months.
HR have marked this income...
We are looking at trading up our home this year and I just wanted to outline our plan/schedule to see if anyone can see any issues or ways to do things more efficiently as it seems fairly challenging to manage to do this seamlessly!
In addition we do not have a 10% cash deposit available as we...
Thanks for response. I called Revenue and they confirmed that I can claim all health expenses in my name. Strange that it applies to health but not to other expenses.
I'm belatedly completing the income tax return for 2023 for myself and my wife online using the myAccount portal.
I am able to claim health expenses for myself however when I move to my wife's tab, there is no health expenses tab available to select.
Does anyone have any idea why this would be...
This morning I transferred money from my BOI current account to Trade Republic (German SEPA) and at the same time I transferred money to my BOI credit card to pay it off this month. The trade republic funds are already cleared in my TR account yet my credit card account has yet to have the...
I just renewed with Bord Gais.
44% gas discount and 12% electricity discount (8c/unit; 42c/unit).
Live in an E rated home so gas bill can be expensive in winter so happy with this discount.
Won't I need to sell my current house anyway prior to trading up? I can't see a bank letting me take out c 3.5x income mortgage when I already have an existing mortgage on my current house. Unfortunately bridging loans no longer exist so it seems impossible to me to trade up without first...
I currently have a mortgage of €248000 at 2.2% fixed until 2027 with PTSB (originally Ulster Bank). I have a public sector pension. We currently overpay the mortgage by €1000 per month. This is not our forever home and will likely trade up in 4-5 years or so.
I liked the idea of overpaying my...
Revolut got a qualified audit opinion this year for its 2021 accounts from its auditor. That is an extremely rare occurrence for a company (never mind a Bank!) to get and should ring alarm bells for whoever has an account with them myself included. I now ensure there's not more than a couple of...
Nest is fantastic for this. You can see what the temperature is in the house on your smartphone and can set heat to come on below a certain temperature to reduce risk of pipes freezing if we're in a cold spell. One of the best bits of tech ive bought in the last decade. Can't beat getting the...
If a medical consultant works for 35 years on the new contract earning €250,000 on the SPSPS then am I correct in saying they are likely to exceed the €2million Higher Personal Fund threshold without any additional contributions or AVCs/PRSAs? Will they be taxed fully on the balance over the...
I'm in a similar position to OP and know very little about pensions. I just have the standard HSE public sector pension. Does it make sense to look at commencing a PRSA then or will the €2m limit come into play there again? Is it best to just contribute to the public pension and no need to look...
I have not received my mortgage loan statement detailing all my mortgage transactions from UB this year despite having switched over to PTSB in early November.
This despite the letter from UB on 7th November that detailed that my mortgage had moved to ptsb saying that this statement had...
