Hi, I am looking to open an account with a Swiss Bank - there is obviously a long list of them. I was looking for some advice on how long does it usually take to get an account setup and if it is really hard and which bank makes life the easiest? A few months ago it took me 2 months to open...

I am in the process of opening an account with barclayswealth.com/international/savings.htm They have 12 months deposit and you can decide if you want your account to be in Euros, USD or £££ ....I am actually opening this one in USD.

Is this the BOI exchange rate if I ship USD to another bank or would there be a spread between bid and offer? treasuryspecialists.com For a 50k USD transfer today I see what would required 37.5k €, how much of these would be lost in exchange rate?

I have a deposit with Permanent TSB locked until March.....should I withdraw everything now and loose interest/pay penalty or rather leave it there until March? Is the real danger just with BOI and AIB or all Irish Banks? I also have a large sum with RaboDirect, I was thinking to take out...
