anyone notice incorrect meter readings with airtricity???

Thanks for the heads up,I just switched to Airtricity as well and got a huge shock at my first bill from them. Never thought to check the reading I called into them was correctly shown on the bill, I must dig it out and have a look.

Your mobile phone, show me what you got

I have an Iphone, I'm so techno illiterate I don't even remember if it's a 3 or 4. I just know I like having my music handy, being able to access my email on the go and following a text conversation as it's all on the one screen. Had this one about 2 years I think and previous phone was an...

    New Years Resolutions for 2012?

I don't make them but I just found myself nodding in agreement with The Banker, especially on the coke thing.

Do you read a lot of misery lit?

Great book, wasn't it? My daughter gave it to me last Christmas which was a brave move because apparently I'm "difficult" to buy books for. She bought it for the same reasons you did and I loved it. Infact I saw Ms Donoghue has brought out another book recently so I made some not so subtle...

Do you read a lot of misery lit?

I've read a few. Some intentionally and some accidentally. It wouldn't be my cup of tea really but I know someone who can't get enough of that type of book. That said, my current reading material of choice are murder mysteries!

    An afterlife?

No, I think once you're gone, you're gone. But I have a lingering doubt because a fortune teller/medium got a lot right about my life and told me a man in a flat cap with the initials "JJ" was watching over me, along with a woman who was a great cook. My grandpa wore a flat cap (not...

What are we watching on TV?

I feel like a bit of a TV slob because everything I watch is probably the Jedward of TV. Anyway.... For hubby and I (so tempted to write DH here :D) Fringe Pan Am Mount Pleasant, although it's finished for now and been replaced by The Cafe Medics, or any UK based emergency medical...

    Things that drive you nuts!!

Years...and ok...more years ago, when the internet was new and scary, people started using DD, DS, DH etc. because they didn't want to name their children online. Sometimes you'd see DD#2 and everyone on that site who "knew" the poster knew exactly which child was being referred to. It used...

Should I give my dogs away?

Have to admit, I assumed it was 100 a month. I have three dogs, (small, medium and large) and I feed them a good food for about €40 a month, supplemented by occassional leftovers, so I thought it was "do-able" I'm a dog owner but I would seriously weigh up the cost of keeping them if it was...

    Things that drive you nuts!!

...and I take things right back to social network sites. People who insist on posting about how a particular celebrity's death is receiving so much coverage in the media and outpourings of grief and sympathy but soldiers deaths/children with cancer etc. etc. are not worthy of the same...

Should I give my dogs away?

Please don't do this, there are more than enough dogs in the world that need homes. I wouldn't get rid of your pets for all the reasons stated above.

    Things that drive you nuts!!

Back to parking...... People who park on the pavement/corner/double parked when dropping their kids off at school. So long as their little darling gets the shortest walk sod the rest of the children who have to step onto the road to get past them. Never mind that other drivers can't see past...

    Do you know your neighburs?

I live on a back road in a rural area. We know our neighbours on each side, will stop for a chat, wave when passing and keep an eye on each others houses but we don't socialise. I'll call the farmer if I see one of his cows on the road, he'll cut my hedges when he does his own with his big...

    Restaurant reservations

I used to work in a restaurant and if someone asked for a table I needed by a particular time I always ensured they knew this before taking the booking or seating them..."yes, I have a table but it's reserved at 8pm..perhaps you would enjoy your coffee in the lounge after your meal?" was more...

    taking child out of school

Can't add much but to ensure you ask if the school will actually provide work to be done while you're away. One of my daughters schools had a policy written in with all the other rules etc. stating if a child was removed from school for holidays etc. the school would not provide work. Irish...

    Garda Vetting Confusion

I've been through this process this year. I can't remember if I paid a fee but I had to organise the UK side of things myself and this involved a small fee. I know however that you need to get clearance for every organisation that requires it. I needed it for my volunteer organisation, if I...

Cheap or free way to use Skype on an iphone

Can't see MacDonalds etc. allowing a pipe band to practice on the premises but a nice idea all the same. I've dug further and remembered a friend in the know that I asked as well. Apparently my current 2G data allowance will allow me to do what I need. I don't mind using that up since...

Cheap or free way to use Skype on an iphone

I've been tasked with connecting up to a member of our group via skype. On the trial run I was notified that I might be charged for data used, this is when I'm away from home. Is there a free or cheap way to connect? it would be 8/16 hours a month which my data package most definately won't...

Does anyone own a dog and still have a garden?

Our collie came from working stock and used to herd the children when she was younger. The thing with collies as well is they are smart, housetraining was a nightmare because we didn't know what we were doing and she was so smart she got confused by our confusion. Keep her stimulated and busy...

Does anyone own a dog and still have a garden?

Thanks, I'm checking it out. We feed our dogs a good food that reduces the smelly output considerably from our boxer, I didn't even think it might be affecting the small one in a different way. He's bordering on hyper so I'm going to be trying something else with him.
