UB & KBC mortgage buyers must honour rates. What about Ts&Cs?

No she specifically said the 10% overpayment limit no longer applied and there may only be a penalty if fully redeeming the mortgage. Not sure if this only applies for customers transferred from UB or not. Have some funds I was going to put into a Raisin deposit account but now thinking this is...

UB & KBC mortgage buyers must honour rates. What about Ts&Cs?

Having just been switched over from UB 5yr fixed rate mortgage 2.35% to PTSB I've just been advised by PTSB that the 10% overpayment limit no longer applies therefore I'm free to make unlimited overpayments with no penalties while on this fixed rate. Not sure if this was mentioned in any other...

Ulster Bank cuts some mortgage rates

Yes if that's your preference. They will lower your monthly repayment unless you ask them in writing not to.

Ulster Bank cuts some mortgage rates

You can contact UB in writing asking them to keep the repayments the same so you can end up taking years off the mortgage term if you wish.

Ulster Bank typo - gives me 2.3% for three years instead of two

Same story for me last month, got the €250 and jumped on the 3 yr fixed @ 2.3%, there's definitely more than 4 of us!

PTSB & their hidden new rule for switchers!

Were PTSB upfront about this 24 month rule as I still don't see any mention of it on their website? I've found more incompetence since I posted on this but thankfully in my favour this time with Ulster Banks 2yr fixed 2.3% rate + 1 additional year to 2021 and €250 compensation! Get it before its...

PTSB & their hidden new rule for switchers!

They said I had to be with current lender for 24 months and this rule came into effect at the end of November, no mention of how old the mortgage was. As TC2015 said above it is anti switchers but I really cannot understand their strategy if they are trying to compete in the mortgage market? I...

PTSB & their hidden new rule for switchers!

Having met PTSB in October regarding a mortgage switch from EBS we got approval in principle. Its only a new mortgage since late 2016 but we'd had been with EBS for over 12 months & PTSB were fully aware of that & no issues. Flash forward to this week having done the full application in early...

The ins and outs of buying a property

Based on what? All I said was I disagreed that Laois was one of the cheapest 3 counties to buy. It's probably not even in the bottom 10 anymore. Average price of a 3-bed semi-detached is over 140k now due to the lack of supply in Dublin which has driven up prices in commuter counties such as...

The ins and outs of buying a property

Op isn't buying a house in 2014, it'll be 2018 very soon. There are currently 56 semi-detached 3-bed houses advertised on daft in Laois, only 6 are under 100k. Since 2010 the property price index has 254 sold. Only 10 were under 50k and another 32 between 50k-75k. Did you mix up Laois with Cavan...

The ins and outs of buying a property

Not sure I'd believe Leo, he also claimed in this thread that stamp duty was 10% and Laois was one of the cheapest counties to buy property!
