If you are still with UB or KBC, You may want to fix now...

In a similar position, on 2.25% now. Fixed until early 2025 with Ulster but would like security of a longer term. Repayments currently at €685. If I go 10 yrs fixed with UB. This would move to €735 at 2.8%.(so 50 extra a month) Breakage fee confirmed at €0 this week. could also do 5yrs at 2.35%...

    Electric Car Diary

Would be similar to slim in the fact that I’m 2 months into my ID4 journey. Came from a well spec’d allspace. The rear seat space is still amazing me. Especially with 3 young kids that all need belting up. I would add the parking sensors to the bad section. They are so late activating you...

In the market for New Ride on Lawnmower

Bought an automower last March and sold the ride on. Best thing I ever did. Bought directly from Sweden online and set up myself ( child could do it ) saved myself 1k instead of buying from Irish dealers and having them install. Everyone comments on the lawn. I’m still chopping and changing the...

Key Post It may be much cheaper than you think to break out of a fixed rate early...

Not sure if this helps but I had a very similar amount and dates with UB. 190k borrowed with UB. 7 year fixed on 3.7% First drawdown was in June 2016. I called UB bank in nov just gone. Was expecting a hearty breakage fee but they quoted me €0. Moved immediately to 2.3% fixed for 2 years.

Bank of Ireland quoting me €2,700 break fee for a recently fixed mortgage

I was 2.5 years into a 7 year fixed with UB @ 3.6%. Called them up in October to get the 'Breakage fee'. To my surprise it was zero. Swapped over to their 2.3% fixed for 2 years rate. Probably should have fixed for longer but the 2.3% was too attractive. I would have been willing to pay a few...
