My pension is with Zurich. I am currently invested as follows
Prisma max 60%
Indexed top tech 100 30%
Indexed European property 10%

I am in early 40s .

Prisma max is risk 6. I am not happy with performance given risk level. I am considering switching to Zurich indexed global equity fund ( Blackrock) which has same risk but better past returns.

Thoughts?

I can't comment on the two funds, but you should probably check whether the AMC is higher for the BlackRock managed fund.

hi Gerard

I am aware of split. Allowing for this difference though is it still not underperforming relatively?

In general there are lots of international studies that show that index (passive) funds outperform active funds.
So in general (within the same risk level) you are better off going with the index fund.

In my opinion this advantage that index funds display is even bigger in Ireland, because lets face it, if you are really good at building active portfolios, you are not working in Ireland.

All my pension funds are invested in Indexed global equity funds.
