My husband and I are hoping to set up a new business and are applying for a LEADER grant.
We need to match the grant with a business loan of about €20K. I have a bank account with NIB for my existing business (self employed, but with very little work coming in now). I called them to enquire about a loan and they said that because it's a new business we're proposing, they wouldn't give us a loan because we need to have at least 6 months of activity on the new business account. This is despite us both having a good track record with them. Very dissapointing.
After a bit of googling, I came across First Step microfinance for new business [broken link removed] does anyone have any experience of them? Or know anywhere else we could look for a loan?
Thanks
