Hi there. Can anyone tell me who ICS are? Through a broker in Cork they have offered a much higher mortgage than all the other lenders on her books. I dont know anyone who has dealt with them (ICS). What are they like to deal with?

ICS are the Irish Civil Service Building Society - a wholly owned subsiduary of Bank of Ireland. Their retail outlets are branded as The Mortgage Store and their also distribute via the broker network. They lend on income multiples (although they do stress test loans on net disposable income) which means in some circumstances they can approve more than the lenders who work on NDI alone. As a lender they are no better and no worse than any other to deal with - it all depends on the individual on the other end of the phone.

Does that mean that they offer the same rates and products as BOI.
