Where to find market analysis on Irish business?

I'm looking to find general info about business in Ireland e.g. amount of businesses in retail, amount of businesses in Dublin etc. Any advice on where to source that kind of knowledge?

Purple and Tangerine are right. The CSO is the source of information, but if your able to narrow your search down then then you can delve into sectors some detail e.g. the Annual Services Enquiry gives details such as number of enterprises, people employed, turnover etc of the specific service sectors of the economy e.g. retail, wholesale, business services etc. The Census of Industrial Production also gives much same information but for industry.

Bear in mind that are certain caveats attached to these reports but these are outlined in the methodolgy of the reports

If needs be you can ring the CSO and they can provide historical data to allow you to do a comparison.
