Where to buy ironmongery for new gate

After many years of my incessant pleading and nagging my husband has finally given up and made a timber gate for me. Only problem now is that we are finding it next to impossible to find hardware; handles and that bit that goes down into the ground. I would appreciate any help in this matter. We're based in Cork but I would travel as far a Dublin to find the right hardware.

You could maybe get them or get advice from a joinery who makes gates themselves? There was a post last week about wooden gates with names of a few joinerys.

If you're not looking for anything particularly fancy you'll find that agri supply stores do robust gate hardware in glavanised steel.
