My father never received a letter and asked me to do a return online for him. He wants to pay cash so I advised him to go to the PO on Tuesday and pay.

I assume he can pay if he quotes his PPSN at the PO?

Interested if someone has the info on this - as I'd like to pay via the P.O. (i'd prefer not to give revenue bank details). However, it's not very clear as regards how this works - and also in the case of paying via payzone.

What are the mechanics of paying in the P.O.? What info do you provide them with?

I believe you can pay in either network using just your PPSN but I'd definitely confirm it with Revenue before making any payment.

Can you not use your Laser card and get the cash from him. Revenue will not have your bank details that way

I understand that An Post are charging €1 per transaction as a fee.

According to [broken link removed], Payzone charge

  • 75 cent per transaction for transaction amounts up to €50
  • €1 per transaction for transaction amounts from €50.01 to €100
  • €2 per transaction for transaction amounts over €100
