Hi we will be heading soon for a fri/monday break in Geneva. We found a decent hotel centrally located but would love ideas for reasonable restaurants? Also there seem to be a huge choice of places to go for day trips but as we only have two full days, again any recommendations for these would be very helpful thanks:)

Sorry I don't know Geneva, but for lunch time self-service watch out for the Co-op or Migros restaurants which are usually attached to the supermarket - it will be where the Swiss will be eating as it represents very good value for money.

Enjoy.

When you arrive in Geneva Airport get the free public transport ticket in the baggage hall There are good bars around the Place du Bourg-de-Four in the Old Town. A reasonably priced resto, if you like chicken, would be Chez Ma Cousine http://www.chezmacousine.ch/ I also liked the Cafe Lyrique [broken link removed] If you want a trip out of town one possibility would be Nyon http://www.nyon.ch/fr/index.php 15 mins by train.
