Hi All

I was thinking of going off for a bit of sun around the middle of October for a week, anyone got any ideas.

I was thinking Carribean, instead of Lanzarote type places

i know some operators are doing great rates on 7 nights Orlando. Your guaranteed the sun there.

Dont worry about hurricanes they should be gone by then, and just to let you know most of them never make landfall in Orlando. Sun is around 28 - 30 degrees

I was in barbados last autumn and would definitely recommend it as a place for sunshine, crystal clear warm waters and beautiful beaches. Have never eaten so well in my life either, the restaurants are fanastic over there, particularly The Cliff on the West coast and Josephs in The Gap (north of the Island). We stayed on the North West of the Island which was a great location, near the capital Christchurch and The Gap where there are loads of restaurants. The west of the islands is very upmarket and that is where the likes of Sandals & The Cliff Restaurant etc are located. The Eastern side is for perfect for surfers because of the atlantic ocean and has a very unspoilt and rugged landscape. All in all the perfect holiday!.

Who did you book with decembersal?

I was considering St Lucia or Barbados

Prices I have seen range from about €1000 to €1200 per person, I think these are all inclusive though

Hi MichaelL,
I booked with Tropical Places and got a good deal. There are a few deals for Barbados and St. Lucia on the special offers page of their web site at the moment so check that out. There were people on our flight who seemed to have booked through Budget as well.
We went room only and it worked out fine, we did DIY for breakfast and lunch or ate at the hotel restaurant and ate likes Kings in the evening -food etc is not cheap out there. Personally I wouldn't go all inclusive because the restaurants are so good and you'd be missing out big time on some fabulous meals.

If I was to go back to the West Indies, I'd go to St. Lucia or Tobago for a different perspective to Barbados, cos it's quite commercialised.

(Am so jealous of you!)
