Water filter - Which is better

I have a reverse osmosis water filtration system under the sink for several years. Filters need changing yearly but its worth it as the water tastes much better than regular tap water.

I've been told that it wastes 5 times the water I drink to clean it. I've been told (by another provider) that an Activated Carbon Filter system would be much better. It costs about €200 to buy and €40 for filters every 6 months.

Would it be worth changing the filter system or is the Reverse Osmosis better at getting rid of Fluoride and Cryposporidium?
