Sunak has passed his framework by 515 votes to 29. He has done this with only 22 Tories plus the DUP voting against.

He also seems to have ended the health service strikes and dialled down tensions with other striking groups.

All this without any major public showdowns.

Next step, to negotiate some progress in NI. Maybe not the existing Stormont up and running but some arrangement that can be called a refresh of the GFA which prevents any one party walking off in a sulk. Indeed the 'Windsor Framework' has moves in this direction.

And if the DUP think they voted because of their concern for the Union, they're even more naive than I thought.
In any case there is no way the DUP will ever vote for a Sinn Fein First Minister.
