Waiting time for Affordable Housing: which L.Authority has the shortest waiting list?

My daughter is hoping to buy an affordable house!! Any ideas which Local Authority has the shortest waiting list. ?

Apply for them all, and just wiat til she gets offered somewhere.

I don't know the answer to your question, but as has been discussed many times here, the affordable housing scheme is only worthwhile if you're planning to live in the property for several years. Therefore it's a really bad idea to choose the area based upon which one has the shortest waiting list. She needs to apply in places where she'll actually be happy to live for a good while.

Not surprisingly, the more desirable the area, the longer the list tends to be.

With property prices falling the way they are at the moment, there will soon be plenty of houses that she can afford!
