Vat on Lease

Hi Guys

Quick question. I'm looking to take out a leaase on a premises, the lease will run on a year to year basis. They landlord is charging me vat, Im vat registered can I claim back the vat.

If the landlord charges VAT and you are VAT registered and all of that part of the premises you are leasing is used by you for your VAT registered business, then yes.

Agree fully with Graham - just ensure the landlord issues a valid VAT invoice i.e. must contain all the particulars as set out in the legislation.
