Using Wise instead of Currency Fair

I was a big fan of Currency Fair until their procedures changed recently.

There have been big complaints about delays in transferring money and terrible customer service when people ring to find out where their money is.

So I have just used Wise and it was fairly straightforward.

Much better than the last time I used it.

So is Wise now the Best Buy? Any reasons for not recommending it?

What was wrong with it the last time you used it?

I've been using Wise for a few years and have never had any problem with it. Depending on the amount, day of the week, what plan you are on, etc., it is possible that Revolut might be cheaper if they support the type of transaction that you want.

Hi bb

It was very frustrating. I think I had used it a few times and then they wanted ID and whatever I sent them didn't seem to satisfy them. But oddly enough they didn't look for ID this time.

Oops! Just checked.

It was Transfermate that I had the problem with.

Was Wise connected with them? Did they change their name?

Brendan

No, Wise used to be called TransferWise. TransferMate is different. I also had a poor experience with TransferMate in the past, and they seem to have switched now to only handle very large transactions.
