Update maps on SatNav???

Heading off to France next week. Have a Garmin Nuvi 250, with 'City Navigator Europe NT Regions 2008' maps loaded, which served me well over there last year. I see that there is an update available for my unit (Navigator Europe NT 2010) which costs a tasty €79.99 to purchase from the buy.garmin.com site. Can anyone out there advise is it worth the update before my trip?

The whole of Europe for 80 quid... that's not bad.
If you do buy check your unit memory; I needed to buy a 2Gbite mini SD card for my Garmin to download the maps for the USA.

Before getting a Sat Nav did you update your road atlas every year ?
Realistically, what % of the raod network is likely to have changed and be in use within 1 yr ?

I see no need for updating, if you get lost on a new road, your sat nav will eventually get your there anyway.

I wouldn't dream of trying France with out of date sat nav with changes to tolls, roads, traffic, etc. Well worth updating IME.
