u rating on conservatory windows

Hi there,
The builder for my conservatory has gone bust, so I need to get someone else to finish the work.
Before they went under they delivered and fitted the conservatory frame and glass (No roof frame or roof glass) i called the supplier and was told that the u rating of the windows installed in the frame is 2.6, and not 1.2 as promised.
My question is do I need to instruct the new builder to replace the 2.6 u windows, or are they fit for purpose for a conservatory in terms of heat loss, year round use, etc.
Alternatively, if I go for a sunroom roof instead, (Solid tiled roof with insulation and velux windows), will I still need to replace the windows?
This room is south facing and will be for year round use
Thanks.

the minimum current spec for windows is 2.0 u value.
whether or not you change them is up to you, depending on cost etc

i definitely would go for a sun room type rather than all glazed conservatory, you would get much better usage all year round, rather than the warm summer / cold winter you get with (badly insulated) glazed conservatories.

Do you need to have stronger foundations if you switch from a conservatory to a sunroom as mentioned in this post.
