Hi.
Just moved into house out the country and have no TV. Want to get RTE 1 ,2 , TV3 TG4 and BBC channels etc

Just wondering what is the best option. Rang TV installer and he quoted 200 for installation of 2 aerials to pick up Irish channels. Does this sound reasonable ??

As regards BBC, CNN what is the best option.

My wife would like to pick some other European channels from Spain, France, Norway, Sweden as well.

Basically don’t know where to start. All ideas welcome..
Thanks

I know there are all sorts of options and opinions out there - but what we did in a similar situation was to get 1 arial to get rte 1& 2 tv3 tg4 - then we got a sky dish and reciever with free installation if you sign up for 12 months (about 250 euro for the year if you go for the minimum chanels.) The plan is to cancel the sky subscription after the 12 months - keep the equipment as per the agreement - and still get all the uk free channels - bbc1 bbc2 bbc3 bbc4 cbbebies cbbc itv1 itv2 film4 and probably a few others too. For the irish channels use the arial.

And/or you could buy a secondhand digibox and dish and, with a little patience, install it yourself. Secondhand they cost about €100. And to add to that list of free channels: itv3, itv4. And if you buy a sky freesat card from the UK, you'll also get five and Channel 4.
