Trampoline - how to keep padding in place

We've always had problems keeping the padding on the edge of the trampoline in place - the blue piece that covers the springs. What usually happens is that the thread gives way and leaves the black cotton ties attached to the outer ring but the blue bit not attached to the trampoline. Now that the time of year is here when the trampoline is starting to see a lot of action again, just wondering if anyone has found a remedy for this as really don't like the kids using it without that padding bit. Thanks.

What I done with the one here is got a long bit of light rope ( something like a clothes line rope) and got a piece of long plastic and tied the rope to the end and cut a small hole in end of each pad at the inside and treaded the rope through, when I got all way round then tightned and tied the rope, It flaps very little and stays in place.
