If a workman damages property while working in a house, and disputes the claim, would it be correct to involve house insurance to pursue claim?

I cant see how they would deal with it unless there was a legal disputes/expenses section under the policy. Because no insured peril has operated. Then again there would be the option to claim under the accidental damage section of your policy (if you had that cover) and the insurance company could try and get the money back from the tiler.

However I would just get his details and report the claim to his insurance company and see where they take it! What is he disputing he did?

its unfortunate that the tiler is disputing the damage..i think your in a tough position with this..we did a job and stripped some old tiles from a wall in preparation for new tiles to go on..but unfortunately we dropped a tile on the edge of the bath and chipped it but as it was our fault i pointed it out to the client and i arranged for a bath chip repair specialist to call out and repair it..it cost me 120 but i wouldnt like it done to me so i had no qualms about repairing it.. i guess you live and learn. sorry

The guy cause sever damage to a stainless steel fridge door (850 euro) and claims it wasn't him and I had done it before he came to the house

As my trade also puts me working in peoples houses I would never dishonestly do something like that, cause been there (and always put things right)

Think my other option would be the small claims court, but can't find this guy on the CRO website, but he has been trading for a long time, think he wont give me his insurers details, so not sure what my next move is.

have you paid him for the work that he's done? if not then dont pay him. also have you got definite proof that it was him who caused the damage. if you have'nt then even the small claims court may be a waste of time, but for the €15 fee it might put the wind up him. but without being smart tradesmen have dopped their prices alot and even though the quality is still very good it doesent leave alot of fat on the price for when issues arise, so you may end up grinning and bearing it.

Of course I cannot 100% prove it, but this fridge is huge, the gouge matches with the curve of the hob extractor perfectly, and he is the one who move the fridge out of the kitchen when tiling.

I would rather go to court and loose than let this guy off the hook. It's the principle or the matter.

And yes, he has been paid, it was 10 minutes later we see the damage.
