Student not working till October

I am a student and will be finished college in May. i have a contract to start work in October with a legal firm. Can I claim jobseekers benefit/allowance for the months of June till October if i dont get a job? I have tried looking for jobs. Obviously I dont tell them I am leaving them in October. I cannot survive 4 months without any money. Will I be able to get jobseekers?

Once you ahve comnpleted your course of studies adn otherwise fulfil the conditions for receipt of JB/JA (actively seeking and available for work), then you can sign on. You'll need a letter from the college confirming your status and date of finish.
