Stone chipping Driveway

Hi

I am looking to get a stone chipping driveway done (approx 300m sq). It is a new build house but we never got around to doing the drivway.

There is currently a layer of 804 on the driveway.

We have a stone chiiping picked out and also plan on putting a lyer of dust underneath this.

I was wondering how difficult would this be to do ourselves? Obviously we require a ride on roller to roll out each layer.

Is it difficult to put down the layer of dust?

Would we be better off employing a landscape gardener to get the job done?
 
Pardon my ignorance but is stone chipping the same as gravel? If it is this thread might of interest with regard to the negativity attached to gravel.

does anyone know if it is necessary to roll the layer of 804 and then roll the dust before spreading the stones?
