sound around systems for new build

Hurling fan,

Its not the sort of thing generally you need to get someone to install. You do it yourself mainly, it is very user friendly. You can buy them direct off the net, or you can buy them locally in shops (I am based in cork and bought mine locally).

PM me if you want to get more info or advice on the install of it, it is something that I would say you could do yourself, the advantage you would have is that as a new build, you could cable in speakers, but thats a doddle.

Thanks for reply Wexfordman. Am very sure I would not be able to do it myself - haven't a clue about electrics - can change a plug and thats about it and Mr Hurling Fan is no better. Could probably get someone to do it as a nixer. Is the cabling just regular cabling or is it different. Spoke to Soundaround and they said they would be supplying the cabling to the electrician. Awaiting quote from them but from reading this thread seems Sonos is a better system. Thanks

Hurling fan,

The whole idea of sonos is it is very easy to install, dont go paying a fortune for someone to install it. I can give you some info on how mine went in, and how much the hw cost. If you are based in the Cork area, you are welcome to come and have a look at it even and I can give you some tips etc, it is not a complex system by any means. Specialist install companies generally tend to charge very high rates as these things are perceived to be complex.

Sent you a private message have a look. Where are you based ?

The SONOS site is a pain when ordering.

It wont let me omit a postcode (we dont have one in Cork), Ive tried dummy ones, and leaving it blank.

Still wont work. Any ideas?
