smell of gas

i have a smell of gas in my kitchen every morning at a round the same time and it only lasts for about 30 min but the thing is that i dont have any use of gas in my house and i live in the country so its not from anyone else house and the oil heating is of how can i get to look in to this for me any help

There may be a dead mouse somewhere! I'm not joking, we had a smell of gas in our sitting room every morning when we opened the door (the smell had time to build up overnight), called out the emergency gas board and they found a dead mouse. The guy said it happens all the time...

I have that the morning after a few pints but it lasts a lot longer.
