Single Traveller looking for Diving Holiday

Hi all,

I'm lookng for advice on a beginners diving holiday for a single person. Ideally I would like to be in a group of like minded people with emphasis on socialising as well as diving and exploring.

I was looking at areas in Sharm el Sheikh and in particular Dahab if I can't find a group organised trip.

Am thinking of going in Sept or Oct.

Any help would be appreciated.

Why not try your local Sub Aqua club first to see if you like it before spending a lot of money on a diving holiday you may not enjoy?

They normally hold introductory lessons in local swimming pools.
 
Are you planning on learning how to dive while on holiday? Or are you already qualified and wanting to travel with a group?

Most divers travelling in a group overseas would be divers that are part of a club here and already "dived up" prior to travelling.

If you want to learn to dive while in Sharm, I can recommend Camel Dive Club, right in the heart of Sharm, own pool, onsite accommodation and cater for beginner try-dives.
 
Try maltaqua in Malta. They do introductory dives and also weeklong courses leading to recognised qualifications.

Think I may give Sharm el Sheikh a miss with the IS trouble not far on the peninsula.

I was hoping to either meet up with a group or travel with one with the main object to learn but be with a group for socialising.

I may look at Thailand.
