My sister, single mother, Irish national, moved back to Ireland from England with her one year old daughter (British born), last year to bring her up at home, romantic notions! To cut a long story short it hasn’t worked out, she hasn’t found a job and misses her life and friends (maybe even me in some small part) in England and wishes to return to England now.
She is unemployed and living in a private rented house which is all paid for through various benefits at the moment.
What implications are there for her returning to England. Can she transfer her benefits or start a new claim in the UK with relative ease or what is the process? I assume that I will be putting them up for a short period of time whilst everything gets short out but I’d like to know what I am letting myself in for and to be able to help her along with the process.
