hi there. i am on disability allowance for the last 6 years,i receive rent allowance, i do some rehabilatative work which i am intitaled to earn 120 a weak for up to 20 hours a week. i earn 160 a week for 16 hours and they deduct the 40 extra from my D.A. i am a single mother of a three year old daughter and pay out that extra 40 for a childminder, but i need to work to keep me saine, even though i loose money by doing so.... anyway i,m getting married in a couple of months my husband to be earns 625 a week after tax and owns his own home. his morgage is about 900 a month. does anyone know what is the story with my D.A. will i be allowed to keep it as i have a longterm illness and even to work 16 hours is hard to physicially do.

As Disability Allowance is a means-tested payment, it will be reviewed once you're married as you'll be means-tested on your husband's income.

The rules for means-testing can be found on this page
