We are converting a downstairs room to a granny flat , the plumbing for the new bathroom will be easy at it's underneath an existing shower and beside the downstairs toilet and utility room. However , it takes ages ( and litres of water) before the hot water flows in the existing appliances in this part of the house . For reasons of economy , environment and comfort , I would like to have +- instant hot water for the ajacent showers , WC and utility .
The hot water source is a Stanly Range which produces more water than we need .
I'm looking for an economical solution ,
-put an emersion in this part of the house ?
-install a pump to pump hot water from the tank in a circuit to serve these rooms ?
-shorten the distance the water travels ( currently via attic) , but this involves lifting floor boards and drilling walls , and it still has to travel to other side of house ?
Any ideas would be welcome.
