I recently got an email purporting to be from Revenue...(page looked quite legit and linked to the real Revenue site)....saying I had overpaid my tax and was due a refund. To claim the refund I was supposed to fill out a lot of details, dob, bank account etc.
I knew Revenue would already have all my details so I contacted them. They said it was fake, as I had presumed, and that a lot of this goes on.
So beware any news of refunds from Revenue!
