RTE report: Universal Retirement Savings Group & business concerns...

I know the working group that's been set up won't report until later in the year but RTE are carrying a report on the concerns the SFA have - must be that they've gotten wind of what's going to be included.

It's kind of early to be turning down some of the (likely) steps we'll have to take as a society without suggesting what should be done in its place... this issue is the ultimate in can-kicking by our political establishment!

To be fair, the political establishment is trying not to kick the pensions can further down the road by proposing some form of universal pension savings system. It is the Small Firms Association who are suggesting that firms cannot afford the possible cost at this time.
The principle of the proposed structure is already set out. It is the detail that the Dept of Social Protection is seeking views upon.
