Are Royal Bank of Scotland notes legal tender, and widely accepted in retail establishments and hotels in Wales and England? Or would I be better to exchange them before visiting Wales and England?
Based on my experience they are not widely accepted. Big retailers usually will accept them but I have had them refused. Scotland seem to accept Northern Ireland and vice versa no problem. I think safer to exchange for England and Wales.
