Restaurant flooded ....do i get paid ?

Hi ,
My boss has just called me to tell me that the restaurant that i work in has been flooded with all the bad weather and high tides. He can't open tonight so i loose a day's work. Am i entitled to get paid anyway ?
I am full time with this job for 5 years now ?

I think if you have a good relationship and you are their 5 years i think he will pay you. You are avaiable for work. It would be bad form not to pay you.

I would guess that this should be covered by your employers insurance policy (assuming they have one, and that it will cover the restaurant being closed due to flooding)
But I have to agree with "papervalue" it may all come down to the type of boss you have.....
