Hi all,
The external finish to our house of 30yrs needs a spruce up. The finish atm is not of a good quality and is most noticable when the sun is shining at a particular angle. I was thinking of either painting over but am afaird the plaster marks would still be noticeable or replaster the walls but that may affect window reveals etc. Anyone any other suggestions or similar solutions they may have tried? Its a 2 storey house. Pebble dash or colour render prehaps? What would cost comparsion be on different systems be?

Don't bother painting it if it is noticeable and it's annoying you. You'll eventually do something about it if you can afford it so the paint is wasted.

I'd say dry-dashing would be relatively cheap. Personally I prefer the nap finish but I'd want a maintenance free render with good clean lines.

Nothing worse imo than painted wet dash without beads - no definition on the corners.
