G gipimann Registered User Messages 5,100 18 Jun 2015 #2 Assuming you have no income other than the full rate of one-parent family payment (217.80), you will have to pay 32 euro per week towards your rent. This is equal to 138.70 per month. Rent Supplement is calculated as the rent minus the amount you have to pay. There are other qualifying rules for rent supplement, you can get more information at this site http://www.welfare.ie/en/Pages/Rent-Supplement.aspx
