Refund from revenue - how much of a wait?

How long does it take from receipt of a revenue notice of assessment for revenue to issue a refund?
 
a few days?! I've been waiting a few weeks now at this stage.

Out the back having a fag I suppose.
 
Depends which region you are in, I am in the East & South East Region.

Just contacted revenue and they told me assessment takes 6-8 weeks.
 
I was waiting 4 weeks and rang them, turned out whoever was looking after my claim had mis-filed it, they thought it had been dealt with, anyway got my money today 7 weeks later....
 
For returns filed via ROS the refund usually issues about 10 working days after the notice of assessment issues. This should be the same for manually filed returns as once the assessment has issued the only checking would be to ensure that taxpayer as no other undischarged liabilities and if not then the refund issues. Of course the date from submission of a manual return to issue of a cheque will depend on time of year and how busy Revenue are at inputting the return. Best way is on ROS. No/little human intervention and fast response times.
 
I rang them and they told me they posted it out to my old address.

Why the hell did they post a cheque when they make it clear on ros that refunds will be issued by EFT?
