I have been to FLAC and they have advised me to get an employment solicitor to write a letter on my behalf outlining reasons why I have be chosen for redundancy. FLAC said it may cost between 200e-600e for this service, money is tight so if someone can recommend a firm that would be a great help.

I have used Ciarán O'Meara in the past, but from memory , he was very expensive. Around €300 + VAT an hour.
So unless dodo you are in a very senior position, I don't think that he is right for you.
I am not sure that you need a solicitor. A good HR consultant could well draft such an initial letter for you. Or a trade union official.
If you are not in a trade union, maybe call up one of the unions and ask them if they know someone.

We used Craig Robertson from www.hr-sos.ie for another employment matter. Craig is an employment law specialist and is very knowledgeable. His rates were also much better than employment solicitors. No affiliation other than a happy customer.
