after downloading a CD mix onto Real player and synching it across to my phone, I discovered that the tunes are individually loaded onto the phone rather than dj mixed continuously (as on the CD).

Is there any way around this or has anyone come across this before? have i missed something on Real Player?
 
You are talking about gapless playback. Very few MP3 players do this either. You could join all the tracks up as a single track that would be gapless, but you wouldn't be able to jump between tracks.
