Putting En-suite bathroom in bedroom

Good morning,

I was wondering if anybody could recommend somebody who has done a good job for them.

It is an older 4 bedroom, red brick house, in Drumcondra.

The room in question is at the front left hand side of the house facing onto the street.

It is along a dividing wall with a neighbour's house, there is another bedroom behind it that over-looks an extension roof.

There is also a fire place in the room, hidden by fitted wardrobes.

I would like as part of the job to move the fitted wardrobes to the other side of the bedroom, maybe moving one downstairs to the garage.

One person has suggested putting the waste pipe up through the attic, another person says that is not possible, that it will have to go underground through the adjacent bedroom.

Any advice is really appreciated.

Many thanks,

Realta

Waste pipes will need a fall for the waste to flow away unless you use a pumped system. The pumped systems are a nightmare when things go wrong (think pipe full of waste that needs to be opened / inspected / cleared.

So a waste pipe is going to have to run under the floors, and this will only be possible if your joists are running front to back and not side to side.

Also, moving a fitted wardrobe is often tricky if it is indeed a fully fitted unit and not a stand alone carcass with front facing/framing.
