Provide full access to account without making it a joint account

Can I provide access to my bank account(s) to another party (e.g., the wife) without changing it to a full-blown joint account?
Meaning, don't have the account in both names but still provide access to it to withdraw money etc.

I can't find any straightforward documentation with the banks. (Ulster and BOI in this case)

Can you not just request a second card in her name?
I put my cards on my wife’s Apple Pay for emergencies.

Used to be a facility to add an authorised signatory to accounts without actually having them as a joint account holder, might not still exist though!
