Problem Uploading Music onto Ipod

Hi there,
I'm wondering if anyone can help.I normally have no problem uploading my own music onto my ipod.However last Sat,I uploaded some music & then noticed that some albums that were already on the Ipod,were deleted.
Today I uploaded the deleted albums individually,but when I plug my Ipod into the computer,the music from my itunes library isn't transferring onto my ipod.
Any ideas?

What operating system are you using? MacOS? XP? Vista? Other? What version of iTunes? What iPod model? What firmware revision?
