Post taking a week to arrive from Dublin to Meath

A letter was posted on Wednesday, last week , from Dublin to my address in Meath. (It was definately posted). As of Monday (yesterday) it still had not arrived. This is a letter, not a parcel or packet.
Can I complain to An Post about this or will it make any difference?
Is three days for a letter usual??

Package from Dublin > Kildare posted on the 4th, still not arrived. I suppose its the volume of Xmas post.

I don't think it's anything to do with Christmas. Living in a Lusk in North Co Dublin - we often get no post for 2-3 days, then good number of items on the 3rd or 4th day.

1 week+ for a letter to come from Sword (about 6 KM) is not unusual.

'snail mail' is right..............

I posted a package to Duleek on 18th September. It arrived on 4th November.

Someone posted a standard letter to me from templogue in Dublin on Monday. I got it in ashbourne yesterday (tuesday).
