Just wondering if anyone has an informed opinion on this: Our architect specified that the facia/ soffits be made from cement particle board. Our builder has used plywood and says they do the same job and that he's never heard of CPB being used. I just wonder why the architect would have specced CPB if there wasn't a reason? Anyone know about this kind of stuff?
Thanks,

Avoid plywood, your arch is correct. Plywood is at best a medium-term solution. It absorbs water and delaminates, so will eventually need replacing.

CPB or Cement Board -e.g. Tegral Bluclad/Cegral/Operal or Versapanel are infinately better.

You only want to do this job once !

We've just done a whole (small) demo building in the stuff, for our own purposes.

That's great, thanks for the advice. I'll get back on to the builder and insist he changes it to CPB.
