I have a pending claim on a Landlord's Home Insurance Policy for a small amount of subsidence. Various professionals have been appointed and it remains a claim pending. Just got my renewal notice from Liberty and premium has tripled. Is there any consequence for my pending claim if i simply do not renew and take a risk on leaving the property unisured for a short while? Thanks.

No. But you have trouble putting it back on cover at a later date with an open or settled claim.

There is no proper reason for a pending claim to be adversely affected by a pending renewal.

The renewal relates to a period after the insurance year in which the claim arises.

See the matter as an issue of contract law. You have paid your consideration [the premium] for the year(s) in which the insured contingency has arisen. The insurers are therefore obliged to furnish their consideration [provision of indemnity] as a matter of basic contract.

+1 peteb's observation about securing cover again but that is a separate issue.
