I live in Ireland and just ordered boots worth 100 euro online, will I get caught for vat, and how much will it be?.

If the value of the goods including shipping does not exceed €150,then no duty is payable just VAT @23% (ie €23.00).
There will also be an administration charge payable with the VAT.

Amazon is VAT registered in ireland and will probably charge you or already charged you VAT included in the price

What the payment details say at the time or order, did it include VAT

I tried a test purchase from amazon.com and they put a sum equivalent to the 23% vat on the bill described as an import tax deposit.

I used to order from amazon.com all the time but got caught for VAT during the summer. The limit before it kicks in is something tiny like €22 (which I didn't know). My CDs were 50c over that limit and by the time the VAT got added on plus the administration fee, they were more expensive than if I'd been able to get them in a shop.
