Hi There,
Does anyone know the main reasons for light fitting continually blowing blubs? It is not a surge as it is the same fitting each time?
Is it best practice to jsut change the fitting?

You don't say what type of fitting or bulb. The answer is yes a faulty fitting will cause bulbs to blow, but is more common with higher powered bulbs ('lamps') than you would find in a domestic house. If the lamps are standard tungsten filament bayonet fitting, <= 100 watts and are from the same cheap batch on special offer at the local DIY shed/supermarket, try a quality replacement lamp before changing the fitting.

A loose fitting lampholder will cause the bulb to heat up and blow, also any enclosed fitting, like a globe, were bulb is enclosed inside it cause heat build up, blowing the bulb..

Also where is it located bathroom, kitchen? Could there be steam/condensate getting at it?
